A Destination for All Ages

KP Funplex promises to be more than just another entertainment center. With a wide variety of activities planned, it aims to become a top destination for residents of Paintsville and surrounding areas. The facility will feature:

  • 24 Bowling Lanes: Perfect for casual games and local tournaments.
  • Two-Level Go-Kart Track: Speed thrills for both beginners and seasoned racers.
  • Laser Tag and Arcade Games: Ideal for birthday parties and group events.
  • 4D and VR Gaming Experiences: Cutting-edge technology for an immersive experience.
  • Axe Throwing: A unique activity that’s been gaining popularity across the country.
  • Party Rooms: Available for birthdays, corporate events, and celebrations.
  • On-Site Restaurant: Offering a full dining experience for visitors.

“This project represents a significant investment in our community’s future,” said Judge Executive Mark McKenzie. “By bringing KP Funplex to Paintsville, we are not only creating a fun and family-friendly environment but also driving economic growth and increasing local traffic.”

A Boost for Local Schools and Sports

One of the standout features of KP Funplex is its direct benefit to Johnson County Schools. Superintendent Thom Cochran expressed his enthusiasm for the facility, particularly the bowling lanes.

“We’re thrilled to secure preferred access to the 24 bowling lanes for our school teams,” Cochran stated. “This will significantly reduce the need for our students to travel long distances for practice and competition, allowing us to host tournaments right here in Paintsville.”

Economic and Recreational Impact

The construction of KP Funplex is set to begin in 2025, with the facility expected to open its doors shortly thereafter. This entertainment complex is poised to become a significant draw for both residents and visitors, further enriching the community’s recreational offerings.

Local businesses are also expected to benefit from increased foot traffic, with KP Funplex acting as a catalyst for additional economic activity in Paintsville and the broader Johnson County area.

Looking Ahead

As Paintsville continues to grow, the addition of KP Funplex underscores the region’s commitment to enhancing quality of life for its residents. The facility is expected to attract families from across Eastern Kentucky, making it a central hub for entertainment and leisure.
