The Magoffin County Water District exists to provide a safe and reliable supply of fresh, potable water to the citizens of Magoffin County. We strive to meet and exceed the expectations of our community and adhere to the highest standards in the industry.
Functions and Responsibilities of the Magoffin County Water District
- Compliance with Regulations:
Our top priority is to meet and/or exceed Federal, State, and County guidelines as they apply to water quality and safety. We ensure that our water supply is always safe and reliable for our customers. - Cross-Connection Control Program:
We maintain a continual cross-connection control program to protect our water system from contamination and ensure the integrity of our water supply. - Emergency Water Main Repair:
We offer 24-hour emergency water main repair services to address any issues promptly and minimize disruptions to our customers’ water supply. - Operation and Maintenance:
Our team is responsible for the operation and maintenance of all storage and pumping facilities, ensuring that our infrastructure is always in top condition and capable of delivering water efficiently. - Customer Billing:
We handle monthly billings for all Magoffin County Water District customers, ensuring that our services are transparent and our customers are well-informed about their water usage and costs.

Important Information for Our Customers
Before You Dig
Before you dig, please call our office to schedule a time to locate and flag water lines. Please call at least 3 days prior to excavating to allow us time to mark the site. This helps prevent any accidental damage to water lines and ensures your safety and the safety of our community.
Billing Information
All bills are due by the 8th of the month. After the 8th, you will be assessed a 10% penalty (on the water amount only) and then have until the 18th of the month to pay before being subject to any disconnection. On the 19th of the month, all unpaid bills are subject to disconnect. If the 8th or 18th falls on a weekend, you will have all day the following Monday to pay.

What happens if it is after 4pm or on a weekend and a water line breaks? Call the emergency contact numbers we have listed on our website and bills. Keep in mind, these numbers are for emergencies ONLY. Any questions about billing or rates should be directed to our office Monday-Friday from 8-4.
