A Flood Watch is in effect from 1 p.m. through this evening for much of Eastern Kentucky, including Magoffin, Johnson, Floyd, Martin, Breathitt, Pike and several surrounding counties. Numerous to widespread showers and thunderstorms are expected this afternoon and evening. Areas experiencing repeated heavy downpours could see flash flooding, particularly along creeks, streams and in low-lying locations. Residents should monitor weather updates and be prepared to take action if Flash Flood Warnings are issued.
