Foothills Communications says Thursday morning’s fire at Conley Tire damaged fiber optic cables along the roadway in Staffordsville. Service remains active for most customers, but Foothills says the damaged fiber could deteriorate and cause unexpected outages. Crews plan to replace the affected fiber beginning at midnight tonight, with work expected to be completed by 5 a.m. Customers served by the damaged fiber route may experience interruptions to internet, phone and TV services during the repair window. The planned outage affects portions of the Staffordsville service area.
