Kentucky’s fall forest fire hazard season begins Thursday, Oct. 1, and continues through Dec. 15. During this period, state law prohibits burning flammable material capable of spreading fire within 150 feet of woodland or brushland between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m., unless the ground is covered with snow. Residents planning outdoor burning should use caution and ensure fires are attended until completely extinguished.
