Salyersville Mayor Stanley Howard says more than 30% of the city’s grinder pumps have now been installed, with the project expected to be completed within the next few weeks. Howard said residents whose grinder pump has not yet been replaced and is currently not working should contact Salyersville City Hall at 606-349-3743 so the issue can be addressed. The project follows longstanding problems with failing residential grinder pumps in the city’s sewer system. Earlier this year, the city moved forward with grant funding for sewer repairs that included grinder pump replacements and lift station work.
