A community blood drive is coming to Salyersville on Wednesday, Oct. 21, with a little friendly competition built in. The Kentucky Blood Center will be at Salyersville City Park from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. for a blood drive featuring the Kiwanis Club of Salyersville and the Salyersville Masonic Lodge. Organizers say the team with the most registered donors will earn bragging rights. The blood drive will take place at the KBC Bloodmobile at Salyersville City Park, 224 E. Maple St., Salyersville. Anyone age 16 or older can donate, though 16-year-olds must have parent permission. Walk-ins are welcome, and those who want to schedule an appointment can call 800-775-2522. All donors will receive a “Grab a Slice” T-shirt. Community members are encouraged to help spread the word and roll up their sleeves to support the blood drive. #AppalachiaInsider #Salyersville #MagoffinCounty #BloodDrive #CommunityNews #KentuckyBloodCenter
