Kentucky’s youth-only firearms deer season runs Oct. 10-18, and state wildlife officials are reminding young hunters and their mentors to review requirements before heading into the woods. Any harvested deer must be Telechecked using the youth hunter’s information, even if the hunter is license exempt. Officials say Telecheck mistakes are among the most common errors during youth season. Hunters are encouraged to plan ahead, follow all safety rules and make the most of the opportunity to introduce the next generation to Kentucky’s hunting traditions.
