Ned Pillersdorf is running for Congress in Kentucky’s 5th District with a campaign focused on healthcare, economic opportunity and what he describes as the need for new representation in Washington. A longtime Floyd County attorney, Ned For Congress calls himself a “rural Democrat” and says decades of the same representation have not delivered enough progress for some of the poorest communities in the country. His campaign is focused on protecting Medicaid and SNAP, strengthening rural hospitals, investing in education and infrastructure, and pushing back against federal cuts he says will hit Eastern Kentucky especially hard. Pillersdorf has also made change itself a central part of his campaign, arguing that after decades under the same congressional leadership, the district needs a representative who will be more visible, more engaged and more aggressive in fighting for working people.
