Kentucky State Representative Bobby McCool is warning residents about a fake Facebook account using his name and photograph to contact people through Messenger and request money. McCool says he is not behind the messages and would never contact people asking for money. McCool confirmed directly with Appalachia Insider that we could share his warning to help prevent others from being misled. Residents who receive suspicious messages claiming to be from McCool are encouraged not to send money and to report the impersonating account to Facebook.
