Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear addressed the nation Wednesday morning, November 4, following Democratic victories in Tuesday’s midterm elections. Beshear celebrated his party’s gains in congressional and gubernatorial races while emphasizing the responsibility that comes with winning elections. “We’ve got to celebrate today, but we’ve got to govern tomorrow. It’s now on us.” The governor said Democrats must focus on delivering results for Americans, including lowering grocery and gasoline prices, improving access to healthcare, and ensuring children have enough to eat. Beshear also cautioned his party against becoming arrogant following its electoral success, emphasizing that the responsibility now falls on elected officials to improve people’s lives.
