Residents in downtown Prestonsburg may hear what sounds like gunshots Saturday morning, November 7, as part of a planned dedication ceremony. According to the Prestonsburg Police Department, the Sons of the American Revolution will be conducting a ceremony in front of the old Floyd County Courthouse. The ceremony will include the firing of blank rounds, which may produce loud noises resembling gunfire. Police say organizers have notified the department in advance of the ceremony.
