Principal Arrested: Alleged Strangulation Sparks Legal Battle

Incident Description

A Principal Arrested from Magoffin County’s North Magoffin Elementary faces allegations of strangling his wife. Deputies Neil and Donavon Watson apprehended James Keith Isaac, after reports that he allegedly strangled his wife at their Salyersville residence on Monday. 

Arrest Citation Details

According to details from an arrest citation obtained by Appalachia Insider, the altercation began over a disagreement about their dogs, with Isaac purportedly grabbing his wife by the throat and strangling her. Additionally, the citation states that Mr. Isaac was found in possession of a .45 caliber handgun, an additional magazine, a hunting knife, and what appeared to be a tanto knife, all of which he surrendered without incident. 

Statements and Denials

Mr. And Mrs. Isaac both denied Mrs. Isaac assaulting Mr. Isaac. However, Mr. Isaac also denies assaulting Mrs. Isaac. The citation states that Mrs. Isaac had visible red marks on her neck but declined medical treatment at the scene.

Mr. Isaac now faces two charges: Assault in the 4th degree for domestic violence resulting in minor injuries and Strangulation in the 1st degree. It’s essential to remember that all parties are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
